Dr. Peter von Woedtke was born 1950 in Lüneburg and undertook his studies of in law (juridical science) at the University of Bielefeld, at the Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität in Bonn and at the University of Heidelberg. He completed his doctorate in 1977 (supervised by Professor Dr. Volker Emmerich) at the University Bielefeld on the topic »The outstanding trade position in merger control« and received his admission as a lawyer in the same year.
Before opening his own law firm Dr. von Woedtke worked for the German Investment and Development Corporation (DEG), for Freshfields, and for one of the predecessors to what is now KPMG. He is also a fully qualified tax lawyer.
My interest in pursuing a legal career as a jurist came from my family background. At our law firm I enjoy dealing with different people and answering their diverse questions on a daily basis. Working creatively for my clients to solve their problems is a fascinating process. I bring all my knowledge, experience and competence to bear on the issue, and I am only satisfied when the matter has been successfully resolved.

Dr. Peter von Woedtke is married and is the father of three grown-up children. He spends his spare time hunting and sailing, and engages himself in the Rotary Club and in the Order of St. John.
