Jan Dwornig


Jan Dwornig was born 1974 in Mülheim an der Ruhr. As a commercial lawyer he completed training to become a specialist solicitor in business and corporate law and in transport and shipment law at the University of Osnabruck.

Until 2003 he worked for the County Court, Essen and occupied positions in the Folkwang Museum in Essen, at the Higher Regional Court, Hamm and at Osborne Clarke in Cologne.

Jan Dwornig is certified by the International Chamber of Commerce as an Incoterms© 2010 Trainer, and is an ILS graduate in Consultancy and Logistics Consultancy.

From 2003 on, Jan Dwornig first established a consulting service for freelancers in the field of crisis management and insolvency, and from 2004 till 2006 he was a self-employed lawyer working with insolvency clients and in general civil law.

In the year 2006 he took over the law firm Schmitz & Matthäus in Mühlheim, which later became Dwornig & Kucki until 2012. In January 2012 Jan Dwornig became a Senior Associate at Busekist, Winter & Partner and from June 2013 until November 2014 he joined the law firm of von Woedtke & Partner – also as a Senior Associate. Afterwards Jan Dwornig founded his own law firm, specialised on transport law and international law.

Jan Dwornig is married to a Dutch national, in his spare time he likes to travel to the Netherlands and to Great Britain; he plays golf and is interested in cooking and good food. He is socially involved in the Shelterbox Germany e.V., a club that provides people in international disaster areas with survival-packages.
